Robotics Workshop

Hands-on, engaging, and educational. Students explore real industrial robotics, ask questions, and pitch ideas powered by “physical AI.”

Robotics is reshaping how modern organisations work. With AI-powered robots evolving from single-function tools to versatile “physical AI” systems, students need practical exposure to stay competitive and lead with confidence. This workshop blends expert guidance with interactive demos to connect concepts to real industry use.

Format at a glance: 3-hour, instructor-led session with interactive activities, small-group collaboration, and Q&A.

Ideal cohort size: 15 to 20 students.

Who should attend

Students in business, technology, operations, or engineering-adjacent programs who are curious about robotics, eager to learn by doing, and open to applying ideas in real contexts. Suitable for beginners and learners with some prior exposure.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this workshop, students will be able to:

  • Explain how intelligent robots are applied in real industries and where they create value.

  • Identify key components of “physical AI,” from sensing to autonomy, and discuss current trends.

  • Work in small teams to ideate a robotics use case and present a concise value proposition.

  • Reflect on feasibility, safety, and adoption considerations for their idea.

Agenda (3 hours)

  • Class setup and robot prep – optimal room layout and demo checks, 10 minutes.

  • Introduction by industry expert – state of robotics and future trends, 15 minutes.

  • Team formation – groups of five for close collaboration, 10 minutes.

  • Interactive session with the dog robot – each group gathers around, asks questions, and engages directly, 5 minutes per group.

  • Idea presentations – teams pitch an industry use case for intelligent robots, 10 minutes per group.

  • Evaluation – facilitator feedback against innovation, feasibility, value, teamwork, and presentation, 5 minutes per group.

  • Certificates and appreciation – best team award, certificates of attendance for all; highlight on resumes and LinkedIn, 15 minutes.

  • Group photo – 15 minutes.

  • Closing remarks and final Q&A – career pathways and opportunities in robotics, 15 minutes.

What You Get

  • Hands-on experience with an intelligent “dog robot” and live demonstrations.

  • Downloadable resources that include tutorials, project ideas, and references for further study.

  • Certificates to recognise participation and achievement.

Requirements and logistics

  • Classroom for 20 students, projector, and one laptop per team.

  • We coordinate timing and student arrival to maximise interaction.

  • Delivery available on campus or online, with a dedicated facilitator. (Online variant mirrors the same flow with virtual breakout rooms.)

Duration: 3 hours.
