DXT TMU Digital Transformation Workshop 2024

Published 10 Nov 2024 | Toronto Metropolitan University

On 2 November 2024, the first-ever DXT TMU digital transformation workshop brought executives, faculty, and graduate students together to turn tech hype into measurable business value. The one-day event, hosted jointly by Digital Transformation Training (DXT) and Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), combined research-driven insights with hands-on labs, demonstrating how AI, ERP modernization, and change leadership intersect.

Why DXT and TMU joined forces

TMU’s strength in applied research complements DXT’s record of guiding organizations through AI-driven change. By collaborating, we created a forum where leaders could test ideas in a safe, academic setting before scaling them enterprise-wide.

Agenda highlights

  • Community of Practice: Building peer networks that spread skills faster.

  • Empowerment Tools, Low-Code Automation Demo.

  • Network & Connections: Speed-mentoring circles with industry veterans.

  • Fun and Learning: Gamified polls to keep energy high between sessions.

Session snapshots

Keynote: “Beyond the Pilot: Scaling AI Across the Enterprise.” Dr. Amir Harandi unpacked a four-step framework—vision, data readiness, minimum-viable pilot, and change champions.

Panel: ERP Modernization in the Cloud Amir Behbahani (Business Advisor), SaaS vs. hybrid models; tracking cost-of-delay as the CFO’s must-watch KPI.

Three takeaways you can apply today

  1. Start with literacy, not tools. A shared vocabulary accelerates investment pay-off.

  2. Small wins beat moonshots. Pilots scoped for < 90 days earn executive trust faster.

  3. Treat governance as a product. Review policy updates in every sprint retro.

About the rebrand

Our banners still read “Digital Transformation School” because the photos were taken just before our rebrand to DX.Training. Same mission, broader course catalogue.
